Alexander Blockx has withdrawn from Roland Garros, the tournament announced Tuesday.
Competing in the main draw of the clay major for the first time, Blockx cruised through his first-round match on Sunday and was set to face eighth seed Alex de Minaur on Wednesday in the opening match on Court Suzanne-Lenglen.
Following the Belgian's withdrawal, De Minaur advanced to the third round, where he will face Mariano Navone or Jakub Mensik.
Blockx reached his first ATP Masters 1000 fourth round in Monte-Carlo in April and backed that up by reaching his first Masters 1000 semi-final in Madrid. The Belgian holds a 12-5 record this season, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.
The 21-year-old is the No. 37 player in the PIF ATP Live Rankings.
