Flavio Cobolli announced his withdrawal from the Rolex Paris Masters on social media Monday.
"I was really hoping I could make it," Cobolli wrote in his Instagram Stories. “Today, after media day, I tried training in the gym, but I’m still feeling some discomfort and I don’t want to take any risks. So I’ve decided to withdraw from Paris.
"This one really hurts. This city gave me the two biggest weeks of my career this year, and playing here again would have meant a lot. Now it’s all about recovering. Thank you for always being there."
The No. 6 player in the PIF ATP Rankings, Cobolli also withdrew from his second-round match against countryman Matteo Berrettini in Vienna last week. Despite his withdrawal from the ATP Masters 1000 event in Paris, Cobolli remains in contention to make his Nitto ATP Finals debut.
The Italian is currently sixth in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin, 466 points ahead of ninth-placed Rafael Jodar, who is effectively in the final qualification spot.
A three-time ATP Tour champion, Cobolli is 36-24 for the 2026 season, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index. The Italian clinched the title at the ATP 250 event in Acapulco and reached his first major final at Roland Garros in June.
