Kamil Majchrzak produced the biggest win of his career on Friday at the Libema Open, stunning top seed Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4, 6-3 in just 69 minutes.

The Pole was dominant on serve, losing only seven of 47 points in a near-flawless performance to outclass World No. 4 Auger-Aliassime and claim his second victory over a Top-10 opponent. Majchrzak, the No. 76 in the PIF ATP Rankings, is now into his third ATP Tour semi-final and his first on grass.

“This is definitely the best win of my career,” Majchrzak said. “Felix has been at the top for a very long time. I knew what to expect. I knew I had to be at my best and be brave in the very big moments. I believe I was very clinical today. I was serving pretty well and I was trying to maintain my [level] from the beginning until the end.”

While Auger-Aliassime was busy reaching the quarter-finals at Roland Garros last week, Majchrzak was racking up wins on the grass. The 30-year-old reached the semi-finals at an ATP Challenger event in Birmingham before honing his game at the Dutch ATP 250 in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

Despite his defeat, Auger-Aliassime will remain at a career-high World No. 4 through the end of the tournament. Into the semi-finals, Majchrzak will next meet Daniil Medvedev or Marin Cilic. The quarter-final clash between Medvedev and Cilic was suspended after the second set due to rain. Medvedev won the first set 6-2, while Cilic took the next set 6-3. Earlier in the day, the third seed completed a 6-3, 4-6, 7-6(8) victory against 17-year-old Thijs Boogaard in a match that had been suspended on Thursday midway through the second set.

Earlier, Alex de Minaur continued his strong run in the Netherlands with an assured display to overcome French qualifier Benjamin Bonzi 6-2, 6-4 in 68 minutes in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. The Australian, who lifted the ATP 500 trophy in Rotterdam in February, is bidding to become just the second player after Richard Krajicek in 1997 to capture both Dutch ATP Tour titles in the same season.

“I would be very happy if I can maintain this level,” said De Minaur, who won the ‘s-Hertogenbosch title in 2024. “It was a very good match today. A lot of confidence because I felt very good out here, and hopefully I can bring the same level tomorrow.

“I think today was a very, very good match by me. I had to play at an extremely high level to beat someone like Benjamin. He’s a very good player on this surface. He’s a hell of a competitor.”

De Minaur faced just one break point against Bonzi, according to Infosys ATP Stats, and the way he erased it summed up his performance. After Bonzi floated a low backhand slice to the Australian’s feet, De Minaur — stationed close to the net — produced a brilliant drop-volley winner.

The Australian has now compiled a 19-2 record on Dutch soil since the start of the 2024 season, a stretch highlighted by title runs in ‘s-Hertogenbosch in 2024 and Rotterdam in 2026.

Next up for De Minaur is a semi-final meeting with another former ‘s-Hertogenbosch champion, 2019 winner Adrian Mannarino. Earlier in the day, the Frenchman defeated Zhang Zhizhen 7-6(4), 6-3 to claim his 20th match win at the event, becoming only the third player to reach that mark after Krajicek (25) and Sjeng Schalken (21).

Mannarino trails De Minaur 1-4 in their Lexus ATP Head2Head series, although his lone victory came at this Dutch ATP 250 tournament in 2022.
