Novak Djokovic cancelled his practice session on Thursday afternoon at Wimbledon.
The seven-time champion was scheduled to hit from 1-3 p.m. BST on site at Aorangi Park, but the All England Club confirmed that the session had been cancelled. Djokovic, who is set to face World No. 1 Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals on Friday, suffered a fall during the final game of his quarter-final win against Flavio Cobolli on Wednesday.
“It was a nasty fall. It was very awkward,” Djokovic said on Wednesday evening. “Obviously, my body is not the same today like it was before, so I guess the real impact or effect of what happened I will feel tomorrow. I'm hoping the next 24, 48 hours that the severity of what was happening on the court and what happened is not too bad, that I'll be able to play at my best and free of pain in two days.”
The No. 1 player in the PIF ATP Rankings, Sinner also fell his during his fourth-round clash with Grigor Dimitrov, and subsequently trained indoors prior to his quarter-final win against Ben Shelton.
Sinner, who leads Djokovic 5-4 in their Lexus ATP Head2Head series, is chasing his first Wimbledon crown, while the Serbian is aiming for a record-tying eighth title at SW19.
