Novak Djokovic has arrived in Paris for Roland Garros and is set to make his 22nd appearance at the season's second major. The 38-year-old practised with Alexander Zverev on Tuesday on Court Philippe-Chatrier.
The Serbian remains one of the leading storylines heading into the tournament, attempting to capture a record 25th major title. Djokovic, who recently competed in Rome, will be playing for the second time this clay court season
The former World No. 1 returned to action in Rome earlier this month after not competing since his fourth-round loss to Jack Draper at Indian Wells in March. At the Foro Italico, Djokovic fell to Dino Prizmic in the second round.
But the 101-time tour-level titlist now shifts his focus to Roland Garros, a tournament where he has enjoyed considerable success throughout his career. The Serbian is a three-time champion, having lifted the trophy in 2016, 2021 and 2023.
In addition, Djokovic has reached seven finals at the clay-court major and tallied 101 wins on the terre battue. Last year, his run came to an end in the semi-finals following a loss to Jannik Sinner.
Djokovic heads into this year’s tournament with a 7-3 record for the season, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index. The 38-year-old reached the Australian Open championship match, defeating Sinner in the semi-finals before falling to Carlos Alcaraz in the final.
