If you are watching Novak Djokovic at this year’s Wimbledon, you might have noticed the Serbian’s new celebration.

The seven-time champion marked his run to the 2024 final by pretending to play the violin but this week the 38-year-old has mixed things up. Instead of playing the violin, Djokovic has performed a quick dance following victories against Alexandre Muller, Daniel Evans and Miomir Kecmanovic.

Inspired by a pop song and his two children, Djokovic pumps his arms and hands down, left, right and up while looking towards his box.

Following his 100th match win at the grass-court major on Saturday, Djokovic explained the meaning of the celebration before his daughter Tara stole the show by demonstrating the dance to the Centre Court crowd.

“It’s called ‘pumpa’ in our language and pump it up in English. There’s a song with my kids,” Djokovic said, before looking over to his box to see Tara dancing.

“And look, my daughter is doing it right now. You want to show it, darling? You want to show how it goes? She’s the master! It’s a little tradition we have right now so hopefully we can keep going so we can keep pumping in Wimbledon,” Djokovic added.

Tara’s quick performance of the dance from the song released by Belgian artist Danzel in 2004 gained cheers from the capacity crowd and a clap from her brother Stefan.

Djokovic is chasing a record-extending 25th major at Wimbledon and will hope for more cheers when he meets Alex de Minuar in the fourth round.
