Fifth seed Jack Draper has withdrawn from the US Open due to injury, the tournament announced Wednesday.
"Hi guys, I’m sorry to say I’ll be withdrawing from the US Open," Draper wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. "I tried my very best to be here and give myself the every chance to play but the discomfort in my arm has become to much and I have to do what is right and look after myself. Thank you for all the support."

The 2024 semi-finalist Draper arrived at Flushing Meadows having not played a match since Wimbledon due to bone stress and bone bruising in his left humerus. “I felt like my arm was shutting down a little bit when I was hitting forehands and on the serve, as well,” he said ahead of the season's final major.
The lefty clawed through a tough first-round match against qualifier Federico Agustin Gomez in the first round, but will not take the court for the second round.
Zizou Bergs, Draper's scheduled opponent, will move into the third round of the US Open for the first time. The Belgian, who recently opened up about overcoming internal battles, will next take on 31st seed Gabriel Diallo or Jaume Munar.
Draper owns a 30-9 record this season, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index, and is seventh in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin. The Indian Wells champion is trying to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals for the first time.
