Jack Draper has withdrawn from Wimbledon.
The British lefty was due to face Taylor Fritz in the first round at The Championships on Tuesday but will now not compete.
“There have been a lot of painful moments in the last 12 months but this one is definitely the absolute worst as there is no great honour for a British player than playing at Wimbledon,” Draper said.
Last year, Draper lost in the second round at Wimbledon and then only played at the US Open during the rest of the season due to an arm injury. The former No. 4 player in the PIF ATP Rankings withdrew ahead of his second-round match in New York. The 24-year-old has played at just five ATP Tour tournaments this season but reached the semi-finals in Eastbourne last week when working with coach Andy Murray.
Lucky loser Dusan Lajovic takes Draper's place in the draw and will now face Fritz.
