Arthur Fils, who retired from his second-round match at the Internazionali BNL D'Italia in Rome due to a physical issue, provided an update on his injury on social media Monday.
"Felt something during the match in Rome," Fils wrote on X. "I ran all the tests with the team and everything is clear. Already back to work for Paris. Thanks for the messages 🙏🏾."
The Frenchman walked to the net after just four games of his opening match in Rome on Saturday, when he trailed Andrea Pellegrino 0-4 and was unable to continue.
The 21-year-old will aim to be fully fit for Roland Garros — his home Slam — which runs from 24 May to 7 June.
Following an eight-month layoff due to a back injury, Fils returned to the Tour in February. Since then, the Frenchman has enjoyed a standout season. Fils reached the title match in Doha, quarter-finals in Indian Wells and semi-finals in Miami.
In April, Fils won the crown in Barcelona and reached the semi-finals in Madrid, where he lost to Jannik Sinner. The Frenchman holds a 22-7 season record, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.
