Arthur Fils trod new ground Sunday at the Cincinnati Open, where he overcame home favourite Frances Tiafoe to claim his first ATP Masters 1000 title.
The 22-year-old Frenchman has also hit a second milestone as a result of his title run in Ohio: Fils has today risen to a career-high World No. 11 and is well positioned ahead of the US Open as he bids to become a Top-10 player for the first time.
ATPTour.com looks at the movers in the PIF ATP Rankings as of Monday, 24 August.
No. 11 Arthur Fils, +10 (Career High)
Fils dropped just two sets and defeated three Top-20 opponents on his way to the biggest title of his career in Cincinnati. With his triumph, the Frenchman has jumped to a career-high World No. 11 and is within touching distance of breaking the Top 10 for the first time. Despite missing the Australian swing and Roland Garros through injuries, Fils has compiled a 32-10 tour-level record in 2026, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.
No. 6 Flavio Cobolli, +4 (Career High)
Having only made his Top-10 debut in June, Flavio Cobolli has climbed four more places to a career-high No. 6 following his run to the semi-finals in Cincinnati, where he defeated the likes of Rafael Jodar and Tommy Paul before falling to the eventual champion Fils.
No. 12 Frances Tiafoe, +11
Tiafoe is back knocking on the door of a return to the Top 10 for the first time in three years after reaching his second Masters 1000 final in Cincinnati. The American, who has now notched 37 tour-level wins this season, defeated three Top-20 opponents en route to the championship match and has climbed 11 places to World No. 12.
No. 17 Brandon Nakashima, +5 (Career High)
Brandon Nakashima continued his outstanding North American hard-court swing with another deep run in Cincinnati. After a semi-final appearance in Washington and a title-match showing in Montreal, the 25-year-old American has broken into the Top 20 for the first time, rising to a career-high No. 17.
No. 46 Hubert Hurkacz, +23
Hubert Hurkacz has returned to the Top 50 for the first time since last August after lifting the ATP Challenger 125 trophy in Cancun. The former World No. 6 bounced back from an early Cincinnati exit by winning four consecutive matches in Mexico, climbing 23 places to No. 46.
