Taylor Fritz captured a record-extending fourth Lexus Eastbourne Open title on Saturday when he overcame Jenson Brooksby 7-5, 6-1.
The American has turned the ATP 250 grass-court event into a personal playground in recent years, lifting trophies in 2019, 2022, 2024 and now 2025. After earning three third-set victories to reach the final once again this week, Fritz rallied from a break down in the first set against Brooksby before he further established his dominance in the second set to triumph after 88 minutes.
“I don’t know what exactly it is about it, but I come here and always feel like I’m playing great tennis," Fritz said. “It’s always a great week for me. I think it always going to be a special place for me because it’s where I won my first tour title.”
With victory against Brooksby, Fritz moved to 2-1 in the pair’s Lexus ATP Head2Head series, while he improved his Eastbourne record to 17-2, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.
Fritz, a 10-time tour-level titlist, is the first man since Matteo Berrettini in 2022 to win two grass-court trophies heading into Wimbledon. Earlier this month, the No. 5 player in the PIF ATP Rankings won in Stuttgart.
The 27-year-old is also just the second active man to grab five grass-court tour-level titles, trailing only Novak Djokovic (8).
Brooksby was chasing his second ATP Tour title after winning in Houston in April. The 24-year-old leaves Eastbourne up 48 places at No. 101 in the PIF ATP Rankings.
