Taylor Fritz will return to Tour next week at the Gonet Geneva Open. The American confirmed the news via the tournament’s social media on Thursday.
“I am super excited to be going back to Geneva for the Gonet Geneva Open,” Fritz said. “I am flying out tomorrow and I have been out for a while so I am super excited to come back and I hope to see you all out there.”
Fritz has not competed since he suffered a fourth-round exit to Jiri Lehecka in Miami in March and has been dealing with chronic knee tendonitis in recent weeks. It will be the first time the 28-year-old has competed on clay since Roland Garros last year, when he suffered a surprise first-round exit to Daniel Altmaier.
Fritz will be making his fourth consecutive appearance at the ATP 250 clay-court event in Switzerland, with his best result a semi-final showing in 2023.
The No. 7 player in the PIF ATP Rankings is 12-8 on the season, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index, and will be seeking his first trophy of 2026 in Geneva. Fritz’s best result this year came in Dallas, where he lost to Ben Shelton in the final.
Fritz will be joined in Geneva by three-time champion Casper Ruud, Alexander Bublik and countryman Learner Tien. The event will be held from 17-23 May.
