Alexander Zverev will open against a qualifier at the Bitpanda Hamburg Open, where he has accepted a wild card into the ATP 500 event.

The German has fond memories at the clay-court event, having won the title in 2023. The 28-year-old, who will be searching top form ahead of Roland Garros, is seeded to meet sixth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime in the quarter-finals and is in the same half as third seed Andrey Rublev, following Saturday's draw.

Rublev, the 2020 Hamburg champion, will play Damir Dzumhur in the first round and, if he wins, will face a German wild card in the second round: #NextGenATP Justin Engel or Jan-Lennard Struff. Seventh seed Brandon Nakashima is a potential quarter-final opponent.

It All Adds Up

In the bottom half, second seed Frances Tiafoe takes on Buyunchaokete and would face Marcos Giron or Roberto Bautista Agut in the second round if he advances. The American won the title in Houston on clay in 2023. Tiafoe could play Alejandro Davidovich Fokina or Gael Monfils in the last eight. The Spaniard opens against the Frenchman and leads Monfils 1-0 in the pair’s Lexus ATP Head2Head series.

Francisco Cerundolo, currently at a career-high No. 18 in the PIF ATP Rankings, reached the semi-finals in Madrid earlier this month. The fourth seed in Hamburg, Cerundolo opens against Pedro Martinez and could meet Jiri Lehecka in the second round.

Eighth-seeded Argentine Sebastian Baez, a potential quarter-final opponent for countryman Cerundolo, meets Camilo Ugo Carabelli in the first round.
