Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten advanced to their second Grand Slam semi-final as a pair with a 6-3, 7-5 victory against Hugo Nys and Edouard Roger-Vasselin on Wednesday at the Australian Open. The reigning Wimbledon champions have yet to drop a set this fortnight as the sixth seeds in Melbourne.
In the quarter-finals, the Finnish-British pair converted four of eight break points, according to Infosys ATP Stats. After coming back from a break down in the opening set, Heliovaara and Patten won the final three games of the second set to clinch victory.
Semi-finalists at the Nitto ATP Finals last November, the duo won three tour-level titles in 2024 in addition to their maiden major crown at Wimbledon. They claimed titles in Marrakech, Lyon and Stockholm, and also reached finals in Bucharest and Beijing.
Their semi-final opponents will be fourth-seeded Germans Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz, who also advanced Wednesday with a 7-6(9), 7-6(5) result against 11th-seeded Britons Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool.
The opposite semi-final will see third-seeded Italians Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori take on Andre Goransson and Sem Verbeek.
