The Lexus Eastbourne Open final between sixth seed Ugo Humbert and Zizou Bergs has been cancelled due to rain Saturday. Play is now scheduled to resume at 11 a.m. on Sunday, when Humbert and Bergs will return to continue their battle for the title.
Bergs was serving at 1-2, 15/30 in the first set when play was suspended due to rain and players left the court. Humbert had saved a break point in the third game, his second service game of the match. Following a three-and-a-half-hour delay, it was announced shortly after 6:30 p.m. local time that play was cancelled for the day.
Bergs is trying to win his first ATP Tour crown, while Humbert, a seven-time tour-level champion, is pursuing his first trophy of the season.
Regardless of the result, Humbert and Bergs will need to quickly regroup to face one another again. The Eastbourne finalists will also meet in the first round at Wimbledon.
