Alcaraz, Zverev & Laver Cup stars unite for iconic London photoshoot

Carlos Alcaraz has already asked Alexander Zverev about his US Open-winning mentality. Andre Agassi has given young American Learner Tien words of advice on the practice court.

But on Wednesday, the Laver Cup players turned their attention to one of the most iconic moments of the week: the event’s traditional photoshoot, with both teams and their captains gathering at the historic Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London.

ATP Tour stars from Team Europe and Team World made their way onto the stage in sharp suits and stylish outfits before lining up side by side for the first group photos. The occasion had all the ingredients of a Laver Cup photoshoot, with plenty of personality on show alongside the formal poses.

There was also some friendly rivalry away from the court, with Team World’s Alex de Minaur — the No. 9 player in the PIF ATP Rankings — declaring that his side looked much sharper than Team Europe in the style stakes.

The players were then joined by Rod Laver, the Australian legend after whom the event is named, for another series of photographs, with the grand pillars of the Old Royal Naval College providing a striking backdrop.

Zverev and Alcaraz will lead Team Europe’s charge to reclaim the trophy, having fallen short against Team World in San Francisco last year. They are joined by Flavio Cobolli, Casper Ruud, Jakub Mensik and Rafael Jodar, while De Minaur, Taylor Fritz, Alexander Bublik, Tien, Francisco Cerundolo and Brandon Nakashima will represent Team World.

Yannick Noah will lead Team Europe as Captain, with Tim Henman serving as Vice Captain, while Team World will be led by Captain Andre Agassi alongside Vice Captain Patrick Rafter.

This year, the Laver Cup returns to The O2, where Roger Federer memorably brought the curtain down on his illustrious career after competing alongside his longtime rival and friend Rafael Nadal in a doubles match at the 2022 edition.

Attention turns to the action at The O2, where the ninth edition of the Laver Cup will take place from 25-27 September. Team Europe have won five of the previous eight editions, but are eager for revenge after last year’s defeat.
