Daniil Medvedev has withdrawn from the upcoming Libema Open.
The No. 5 in the PIF ATP Rankings cited the need to rest after the European clay-court season. He will therefore not compete at the grass-court ATP 250, to be held in Rosmalen on the outskirts of ‘s-Hertogenbosch from 10-16 June.
“Disappointed to not play in Rosmalen this year,” said Medvedev, who reached the final on the Dutch grass in 2022. “As I have said in the past, it’s a great tournament and a good preparation for the grass-court season. Unfortunately, my body needs a break and I will do everything to get ready and back on Tour.”
Medvedev is 27-8 for the season after a fourth-round run at Roland Garros. The 28-year-old reached the final at the Australian Open in January and in Indian Wells in March, but he is still chasing his first tour-level crown of the season.
