Jakub Mensik will return to his hometown of Prostejov this week to compete at the Unicredit Czech Open, an ATP Challenger 100 event, where the Czech has received a main draw wild card.
Mensik arrives in Prostejov following a second-round exit at Roland Garros. Prostejov marks the #NextGenATP star's second Challenger appearance of the season, having competed in Cap Cana in March as World No. 57 in the PIF ATP Rankings.
Shortly after a semi-final showing in Cap Cana, Mensik won his maiden ATP Masters 1000 title in Miami, where he defeated his idol Novak Djokovic in the final. Mensik is now No. 19 in the PIF ATP Rankings, meaning fans in Prostejov will relish the rare opportunity to see a Top 20 player in an intimate Challenger setting.
The 19-year-old's lone Challenger title came in his home country in 2023, when he won the Prague Challenger, which was just his sixth outing at that level.
Alejandro Tabilo also accepted a wild card into Prostejov. The Chilean is seeded second.
