Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic advanced to the final at the National Bank Open presented by Rogers for the first time as a team on Wednesday, when they downed Theo Arribage and Albano Olivetti 6-4, 6-4.
The third seeds saved all four break points they faced to move to within one win of their ninth title together and second of the season. Arevalo and Pavic have yet to drop a set in Montreal and are aiming to add to their four previous Masters 1000 crowns in Canada. They have triumphed together at this level in Indian Wells, Miami, Rome and Cincinnati.
Arevalo has tasted previous success in Canada, having lifted the trophy with Jean-Julien Rojer in 2023 in Toronto.
Arevalo and Pavic, who previously lost in the semi-finals together in Montreal in 2024, will meet Orlando Luz and Rafael Matos in Thursday's final, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. local time. Luz and Matos rallied from 1/5 and 3/6 in the second-set tie-break to defeat Francisco Cerundolo and Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-4, 7-6(7) and reach their first Masters 1000 title match.

Best known for their singles exploits, the Argentines have made a major impact on the doubles court this week in Montreal. After defeating defending champions Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool in the opening round, Cerundolo and Etcheverry backed up that result with a clinical quarter-final victory against the joint No. 1 players in the PIF ATP Doubles Rankings.
Heliovaara and Patten were chasing their sixth tour-level title of the season, having already lifted trophies in Adelaide, Doha, Dubai, Madrid and at Wimbledon.

Marozsan/Medvedev oust Nys/Roger-Vasselin in Montreal
Singles stars Fabian Marozsan and Daniil Medvedev continued their surprise doubles run at the National Bank Open presented by Rogers Saturday, when they defeated Hugo Nys and Edouard Roger-Vasselin 7-6(5), 6-4 to advance to the quarter-finals.
Nys and Roger-Vasselin, who were seeking their second tour-level title of the season, were unable to capitalise on their opportunities as Marozsan and Medvedev remained composed in the key moments. The singles standouts erased three of the four break points they faced, according to Infosys ATP Stats, to advance after one hour and 29 minutes.
While Marozsan and Medvedev continued their doubles campaign Saturday, their fellow singles stars Matteo Arnaldi and Lorenzo Musetti fell to Manuel Guinard and Guido Andreozzi. The seventh seeds eased past the Italians 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the last eight.

Top seeds Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten also advanced with a 6-4, 7-6(6) victory against Andre Goransson and Casper Ruud.
Luz/Matos upset Bolelli/Vavassori in Montreal
The upsets are not just occurring in the singles draw at the National Bank Open presented by Rogers. A host of seeded doubles teams all lost in a dramatic Friday at the ATP Masters 1000 event.
Orlando Luz and Rafael Matos overcame fourth seeds Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori 6-4, 6-4 to reach the second round in Montreal. The Brazilians, who have captured two tour-level titles in 2026, saved the only break point they faced to earn one of the biggest wins of their year.
Second seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos and fifth seeds Christian Harrison and Neal Skupski also lost. Hugo Nys and Edouard Roger-Vasselin downed Granollers and Zeballos 6-3, 3-6, 10-7, while Yuki Bhambri and Michael Venus beat Harrison and Skupski 6-7(9), 6-4, 10-8.

In other doubles action Thursday, Daniil Medvedev teamed up with Fabian Marozsan to rally past Canadians Liam Draxl and Cleeve Harper 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 in the first round.

The top seeds erased both of the break points they faced, according to Infosys ATP Stats, to advance to the second round.
