Lorenzo Musetti withdrew from the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell late on Sunday afternoon due to a right thigh injury.
The Italian showed signs of the injury during his Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters final against Carlos Alcaraz, which the Spaniard rallied to win in three sets. Musetti struggled with his movement throughout the third set and received treatment from an ATP physio.
"I don't want to take any excuses today. Carlos probably deserved to win," Musetti said. "But the thing that was a pity [was] that I could not show myself, my game, until the last point. That's it. But I will take one week now and will not go to Barcelona, and I will play Madrid. Hopefully there I will be 100 per cent."
