Juan Carlos Prado Angelo will not soon forget this past weekend’s triumph at the Lima Challenger.
The 20-year-old Bolivian claimed his biggest career title by defeating home hope Gonzalo Bueno 6-4, 7-5 in Saturday’s final, ensuring his rise to 14th in the PIF Live Race To Jeddah.
A sparring partner at last year’s Nitto ATP Finals, Prado Angelo is seeking maiden qualification for the Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF.

Prado Angelo was not the only #NextGenATP player who had a strong week on the ATP Challenger Tour. Croatia’s Dino Prizmic, who beat Prado Angelo in the 2023 Roland Garros boys’ singles final, was aiming for his third consecutive title at that level, but fell one step short.
Marco Cecchinato ended Prizmic’s 14-match winning streak in the Aspria Tennis Cup trofeo BCS final with a 6-2, 6-3 victory.
The Italian, former World No. 16, is an eight-time Challenger champion. His triumph in Milan marked his first title at any level since October 2022.
Prizmic is fourth in the PIF Live Race To Jeddah behind Jakub Mensik, Joao Fonseca and Learner Tien, respectively.
