The action began on time at the clay-court major before play was suspended at 12:05 p.m. local time. After a 50-minute break, players returned to court before the action was halted again at 2:08 p.m. After another two-hour, 45-minute stoppage, players returned at 4:53 p.m.
Eighth seed Hubert Hurkacz is competing against Brandon Nakashima on Court Simonne-Mathieu, while Frances Tiafoe is in action against Denis Shapovalov on court 11. Felix Auger-Aliassime is taking on Henri Squire on Court 9, with Luciano Darderi facing Tallon Griekspoor on Court 2.
Play has continued throughout under the roof on Court Philippe-Chatrier, where Novak Djokovic is playing Roberto Carballes Baena. Gael Monfils meets Lorenzo Musetti in the night session. Under the roof on Court Suzanne-Lenglen, Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev advanced.
All doubles matches have been cancelled for the day due to the rain.
