Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic headline the field at Roland Garros. Sinner, the No. 1 player in the PIF ATP Rankings, is aiming to complete the Career Grand Slam.
Zverev and Djokovic, both in the bottom half of the draw, are chasing feats of their own. The second seed Zverev is seeking his first major crown, having reached three Slam finals before, including in 2024 in Paris. Djokovic is playing just his fourth tour-level event of the season and now will bid for his 25th major trophy and fourth on the terre battue.

1) Sinner chases Career Grand Slam: Undefeated on clay this year, the Italian has posted a 36-2 season record, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index. Sinner held three championship points in the Roland Garros final last year before falling to rival Carlos Alcaraz. The 24-year-old will aim to rebound from that heartbreaking defeat and become the seventh man in the Open Era to complete the Career Grand Slam.
2) Three-time champ Djokovic returns: Making his 22nd appearance in Paris, Djokovic is chasing a 25th major trophy. He enters the tournament with a 7-3 season record, with his best result being a runner-up finish at the Australian Open, where he beat Sinner in the semi-finals. Djokovic won Roland Garros in 2016, 2021 and 2023.
3) Final Roland Garros dance for Wawrinka, Monfils: 2015 champion Stan Wawrinka and home favourite Gael Monfils are set to wave goodbye to the ATP Tour this season, meaning that this fortnight will mark their final showing at Roland Garros.
4) Zverev continues pursuit of first major crown: A three-time major finalist, the German seeks to taste Slam glory for the first time. The 29-year-old has made several deep runs at clay-court tournaments this season, including a final appearance in Madrid. Zverev also reached the semi-finals in Monte-Carlo and Munich.
5) #NextGenATP seeded stars Jodar, Fonseca: Spaniard Rafael Jodar is seeded in his first Roland Garros appearance. The 19-year-old has made a splash this clay-court swing, earning his maiden ATP Tour title in Marrakech. He then reached the semi-finals in Barcelona and quarter-finals at the ATP Masters 1000 events in Madrid and Rome. Fellow #NextGenATP star Joao Fonseca is seeded 28th. French teen Moise Kouame makes his major main-draw debut.
6) Two-time finalist Ruud: Norwegian Casper Ruud is always one to watch this time of year. Fresh off a final run in Rome and a semi-final appearance in Geneva, the 15th seed looks to bring that form into Roland Garros. Ruud reached the final in 2022 and 2023.
7) Four seeded Frenchmen lead home hopes: French No. 1 Arthur Fils, seeded 17th, looks to improve upon his career-best third-round showing at his home Slam. Fils is one of four seeded Frenchmen competing in Paris. The 22nd seed Arthur Rinderknech, 30th seed Corentin Moutet and 32nd seed Ugo Humbert are among the Frenchmen in action.
8) First-round matches to watch: Fils meets former champion Wawrinka in a first-round battle between two fan favourites. Djokovic begins against hefty-serving Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. Kouame, 17, faces Tour-veteran and 2022 semi-finalist Marin Cilic, 20 years his senior. Read more about first-round matches to watch.
9) Shelton, Fritz among American seeds: Ben Shelton has reached at least the quarter-finals at three of the four Slams, and after a fourth-round showing in Paris last year, the fifth-seeded American will be poised to go beyond that mark. Tommy Paul, seeded 25th, reached the last eight in 2025, as did 19th seed Frances Tiafoe. Seventh seed Taylor Fritz begins his campaign against fellow American Nishesh Basavareddy. Learner Tien, arriving off his Geneva run, and Brandon Nakashima are also among the six American seeds in Paris.
10) Cobolli, Darderi aim to build upon clay success: With Sinner carrying the torch for Italian tennis, his countrymen Flavio Cobolli and Luciano Darderi have found their own momentum on red clay. Cobolli, 24, is inching closer towards his Top 10 debut, having reached the Munich final and the quarters in Madrid. Darderi’s five ATP Tour titles have all come on clay. He most recently reached the last eight in Hamburg, following a semi-final run in Rome. Cobolli and Darderi will look to bring that form to the season’s second major.
