Novak Djokovic and Holger Rune are among the stars who have already begun training at the Monte-Carlo Country Club ahead of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, which begins Sunday.
The pair have not played in a Lexus ATP Head2Head match at the season’s first clay-court ATP Masters 1000 event, but they have often crossed paths on the practice court in the Principality.
Djokovic is a two-time champion at the tournament, where Rune surged to the final one year ago behind wins against Dominic Thiem, Daniil Medvedev and Jannik Sinner, all of whom have reached the Top 3 in the PIF ATP Rankings.

Djokovic and Rune are not the only players who have hit the ground running in Monte-Carlo. Two-time champion Stefanos Tsitsipas, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Alexander Zverev are also preparing for the tournament.
