Casper Ruud will be coached by David Ferrer from next season. The Norwegian announced the news via social media on Saturday.
“Good news travels fast! David Ferrer will be joining the team next year and needless to say we’re all really excited about what’s ahead,” Ruud wrote.
The former No. 3 player in the PIF ATP Rankings Ferrer will start working with Ruud once he steps down as Spain’s Davis Cup captain after the Davis Cup Finals in Bologna, held from 24-29 November.
Ruud's father and current coach, Christian Ruud, will remain as part of the team. Ruud holds a 36-20 record this year and will end his season next week at the ATP 250 event in Stockholm.
The No. 18 player in the PIF ATP Live Rankings advanced to the semi-finals this week in Paris and also reached the title match at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Rome earlier this year.
