Henry Searle will not soon forget his maiden ATP Challenger triumph.

The 20-year-old was crowned champion in Dublin, Ireland, where he became the youngest Challenger titlist on grass since a 19-year-old Alex de Minaur in 2018. While De Minaur has ascended to a career-high No. 6 in the PIF ATP Rankings, Searle is just beginning his professional journey in hopes of following those footsteps.

The 2023 Wimbledon boys’ singles champion and a former junior No. 3, Searle beat Austrian Jurij Rodionov 6-4, 6-2 in Saturday’s Dublin Challenger final.

“I had a game plan going in and managed to stick to it, break through, keep the pressure on and eventually get the win,” said Searle, who is up 91 places to a career-high No. 263 in the PIF ATP Rankings.

Following Searle’s victory, a British player has won a Challenger grass-court title for five consecutive years: Jack Pinnington Jones (2025, Nottingham 2), Jacob Fearnley (2024, Nottingham), Andy Murray (2023 Surbiton & Nottingham) and Daniel Evans (2022 Nottingham).

The lefty Searle has a wild card into this week’s Wimbledon qualifying. He will also compete in men’s doubles alongside Evans.

Christopher O’Connell returned to the winner’s circle for the first time in 21 months at the Lexus Nottingham Open.
