Ben Shelton's opening match at the 2024 Miami Open presented by Itau will have to wait one more day. The American's clash against #NextGenATP Spaniard Martin Landaluce has been cancelled along with three other matches Saturday.
Shelton competed at the season's second ATP Masters 1000 event for the first time last year as the No. 39 player in the PIF ATP Rankings and lost his opening match. This edition, the lefty is the 16th seed.
The other matches cancelled were 23rd seed Lorenzo Musetti against Roman Safiullin, 11th seed Grigor Dimitrov facing Alejandro Tabilo and 19th seed Adrian Mannarino playing Yannick Hanfmann. The clash between Karen Khachanov and Laslo Djere was moved to Court 5 not before 8 p.m.
Musetti is ready to compete for the first time as a father. The Italian recently announced the birth of his first child, Ludovico.
