Tomas Machac ended Jannik Sinner's streak of 37 consecutive sets won at ATP Masters 1000 events on Thursday, when the Czech levelled their third-round clash at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.
Sinner, the No. 2 player in the PIF ATP Rankings, scooped titles in Paris last year, and Indian Wells and Miami last month, without dropping a set to break Novak Djokovic's previous record of 24. The 24-year-old Italian continued his run by winning the first three sets of his run in Monte-Carlo, before Machac bulldozed his way through a second-set tie-break.
