The ATP Tour's best singles and doubles players have descended on Turin for the 2023 Nitto ATP Finals. World No. 1 Novak Djokovic leads the singles field alongside Carlos Alcaraz, who is making his debut at the season finale.

Former champions Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas will bid for another year-end crown, with Jannik Sinner, Andrey Rublev and Holger Rune all seeking their first Nitto ATP Finals trophy.

ATPTour.com breaks down five things to watch at the season finale.

1) Djokovic's Records Quest, No. 1 Chase: The Serbian is seeking a record-breaking seventh Nitto ATP Finals crown, which would break a tie with Roger Federer. He could also secure a record-extending seventh ATP Year-End No. 1 presented by Pepperstone honour with one match win in Turin or a single defeat by the chasing Alcaraz.

2) Youth Is Served: Alcaraz and Rune are both making their Nitto ATP Finals debuts, while home favourite Sinner is a direct qualifier for the first time after competing as an alternate at the Pala Alpitour in 2021. Alcaraz is set for his first appearance at the season finale after an abdominal injury kept him out of the 2022 event.

3) Zverev Caps Comeback Season: The German steadily built up his form this season after returning from the ankle injury he suffered in the 2022 Roland Garros semi-finals. After claiming two ATP Tour titles in the second half of this year, he will bid for his third Nitto ATP Finals crown.

4) Can Medvedev Flip The Script?: Last year in Turin, Medvedev had the misfortune of losing three final-set tie-breaks to crash out in the group stage. The World No. 3 was also 0-3 in his 2019 Nittp ATP Finals campaign before winning the title in 2020. Can he repeat that feat in Turin?

5) Five Doubles Teams Fight For No. 1: Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek enter Turin atop the Pepperstone ATP Doubles Teams Rankings, but their status is under threat from four other teams in Turin: Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski, Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden, Santiago Gonzalez and Edouard Roger-Vasselin, and Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos.
