Rafael Nadal, Rod Laver and Maria Sharapova were among the first stars who weighed in on social media following Jannik Sinner's victory against Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final.

"Congratulations @janniksin on your first @Wimbledon πŸ†! Special moments!" Nadal wrote in Italian, before switching to Spanish to address Alcaraz. "I know it won't be an easy day, but... Congratulations @carlosalcaraz on another Grand Slam final and for the great season you're having!"

Rod Laver, who won the Wimbledon singles title four times (1961-62, 1968-69), not only congratulated the stars, but explained why he believes their Lexus ATP Head2Head rivalry is so important for tennis.

“Congratulations to Jannik Sinner on winning his first Wimbledon title in another thrilling contest with Carlos Alcaraz," Laver wrote. "Their growing rivalry is a gift to our sport, and it’s matched by the genuine respect they show for each other. Win or lose, they compete with joy, class, and sportsmanship. That’s what makes champions.”

It All Adds Up

Sharapova, Billie Jean King and Ana Ivanovic were among the other stars who reacted to the Wimbledon final.
