Wimbledon announced its wild cards on Wednesday, with Daniel Evans headlining the gentlemen's singles list.
Evans, a 35-year-old currently at No. 199 in the PIF ATP Rankings, will compete in the main draw at the grass-court major for the 10th time. The former World No. 21 has advanced to the third round at SW19 on three previous occasions.
The other players who received a main draw singles wild card are Jay Clarke, Oliver Crawford, George Loffhagen, Johannus Monday, Jack Pinnington Jones and Henry Searle. There is one more gentlemen's singles main draw wild card to be announced.
Pinnington Jones of Texas Christian University was among 22 college players who recently qualified for the third year of the ATP Next Gen Accelerator. The Wimbledon wild card is not part of the programme. However the Briton, who is a multiple-time qualifier for the Accelerator, will benefit from direct entry into ATP Challenger Tour events thanks to his performance in college.
