- Unranked to begin 2018, ended 2020 as No. 1 teenager, broke into Top 10 at age 20 in 2021, became 1st Italian World No. 1 in PIF ATP Rankings history at age 22 in June 2024, earning 66 weeks at No. 1 spot.
- At 2024 Australian Open, defeated 10-time champion Djokovic in SF and rallied from two sets down in final against Medvedev to win his 1st Grand Slam title. Became 1st player to beat Djokovic in SF or later at the tournament.
- Became 1st Italian champion in Australian Open tournament history and second Italian man to win a Grand Slam title in Open Era (Panatta at 1976 Roland Garros).
- Third man this century to successfully defend maiden Grand Slam title after Federer at 2003-04 Wimbledon and Nadal at 2005-06 Roland Garros after winning 3rd Grand Slam title at 2025 Australian Open.

- Won 2019 Next Gen ATP Finals title on home soil in Milan and 2024 Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, becoming 1st man to win that event without dropping a set since Lendl in 1986.
- First Italian to win Nitto ATP Finals title and led Italy to 2 of 3 Davis Cup titles in history in 2023 and 2024 (also 1976).
