Began playing tennis at age three with parents, who often brought their
only child to the local club.
Ranked among the Top 10 German juniors from 1980-88.
Enjoys golf and skiing in Austria.
Father, George, and mother, Jana, were both born in Czechosolavkia be-
fore moving to Germany in 1968.
Trained with Victor Pecci for three-and-half months in Ibiza in 1988 and
for four months with Jose Higueras in Palm Springs, Calif.
Coached by Swede Mans Hall.
