1991- First at Irish Sat. (w/23 pts.).
Began playing tennis at age four.
All of his relatives live in Ireland and he has visited the country 15
times, four within 1991. He was elected to the Irish Davis Cup team and in
May 1992 he will make his debut against Greece.
In summer 1991, won the Irish Satellite, winning two of the four legs.
Had impressive wins over British Davis Cup players Mark Petchey and
Chris Wilkinson.
Played one year at Long Beach (Calif.) State in 1989-90 and turned pro
in March 1991.
Interests include going to the beach, playing other sports, listening to
hard rock music, watching TV (Cheers) and lifting weights. Would someday
like to be a singer.
Father, Gerard, is a vice-president of Quantum Analytics (instrument
leasing) and mother, Thelma, works for Prudential Real Estate. Parents moved
from Ireland to the U.S. in 1967.
