A member of the British Davis Cup team from 1977-1983. Following his professional tennis career, Lewis worked for the Lawn Tennis Association from 1987-2000, finishing his post as the Director of Tennis. He managed Great Britain's tennis team at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. Following his tenure at the LTA, Lewis moved on to England's Rugby Football League in 2002, and took over as chairman in 2009. In April 2012, Lewis returned to the tennis industry, appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Wimbledon by the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
