Founded Gilles Moretton Organisation, which organised sporting events. Created the Lyon Tennis Grand Prix in 1987, and the event became a staple on the ATP Tour. Managed the tournament until 2009.
Was president of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Tennis League.
Was Chairman of the Board of ABEL Basket, managing the club for 13 years. Team won French championships twice during his tenure.
Was a member of the French Davis Cup team, playing seven matches.
