Career

Nickname is 'Rodri'
Father, Benito, is a director at a car mechanics company. Mother, Veronica, owns a clothing store and teaches yoga. Has a twin sister, Fernanda.
Began playing tennis at four years old because of his dad's passion for the sport.
Played his first tournament at age seven, competing against 10 year olds.
At age 12, travelled to Europe with his coach and a friend for a four-week swing of tournaments. Began to have professional tennis dreams.
Became the No. 1 junior in the world in May 2023.
At 2025 Acapulco, aged 19, became the youngest Mexican player to win an ATP Tour match since 1996.
Learned English through watching movies and travelling to foreign countries.
Favourite shot is forehand. Favourite tournament and city on Tour are both Acapulco.
Tennis idol is Rafael Nadal. Hero is his father, Benito.
Outside of tennis, enjoys football. Barcelona is his favourite team. Lionel Messi is his favourite athlete.
Favourite hero is Spiderman, book is Harry Potter, movie is Interstellar and TV show is Outer Banks.
Favourite music group is Rufus du sol and actor is Matthew McConaughey.
Enjoys playing Xbox and secret talent is table games.
Favourite food is sushi, guilty pleasure is ice cream.
Loves going to amusement parks, especially Universal Studios in Orlando.

Mexican will be seeking 1st ATP Tour win of career at 2023 Acapulco as 17-year-old WC.
Lost to Hijikata in ATP Tour debut at 2022 Los Cabos as WC.
Earned 1st points in Pepperstone ATP Rankings in March 2022 as 16-year-old.
Achieved career-high No. 3 in junior rankings on 16 January 2023 and owns 11 ITF Junior Circuit titles.
Advanced to 2022 Orange Bowl final in his most recent junior tournament last December.
