Started playing tennis at age 5, hitting on a wall while his sister played.
Invited to train at TK Sparta Praha in Prague as a 10-year-old and has practised there ever since.
Favourite shot is tweener, surface is hard, tournament is Wimbledon and city on tour is Paris.
Tennis idols were both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Enjoys basketball and lists favourite team as Chicago Bulls and favourite player as Michael Jordan, though Jordan's last game as a Bull was 2+ years before Machac was born.
Also admires world-record sprinter Usain Bolt.
Favourite actor is Hugh Grant, musician is Queen, movie is Harry Potter andTV show is Two and a Half Men.
Likes reading, studying and watching shows about history.
Favourite food is schnitzel with potatoes.
Says that his best quality is his strong mindset and his worst quality is his fear of snakes and spiders.
