A member of the Mexican Davis Cup team since 1987 and participant in the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, losing to Edberg in the second round. Qualified in four Grand Slams in the last two years (1988-89). Assistant coach at University of Georgia and Mexican Federation Cup coach before coming to the University of South Florida as head coach in 2005.
