    The Italian appeared in his first two Grand Prix finals in 1987, both in
    his native Italy. He qualified and was runner-up to Andrei Chesnokov at Flor
    ence in May and teamed with Massimo Cierro to reach the final at St. Vincent
    in August.
    As a junior, he won the international tournament at Livorno in 1980, the
    Brescia tournament in 1979 and the doubles title at Catania in 1980.
    Earned a career-high $28,342 in 1987 and finished No. 235 on the ATP
    computer rankings. Ranked No. 196 on the ATP computer in 1989.
