    • Nickname is B-Nak.
    • Parents, Wesley and Christina, are both pharmacists; little brother, Bryce, is an up-and-coming tennis player.
    • Mother grew up in Vietnam and moved to California at age 5.
    • Father is of Japanese ancestry and was born in California.
    • Began playing tennis as a 3-year-old with his grandfather, who would take him to local park.
    • Enrolled early at University of Virginia as 17-year-old and was named 2019 ACC Freshman of the Year before turning pro.
    • "Going to college helped a lot," said Nakashima. "The atmosphere was incredible and maturing there was important."
    • Favourite shot is backhand, surface is hard, tournament is Wimbledon and city on tour is Paris.
    • Tennis idol is Roger Federer, though he says he plays more like Novak Djokovic.
    • Practised with Djokovic each day for a week during 2020 US Open.
    • Best advice received is from his parents: "Work hard, stay the course and good things will happen."
    • If he could steal one shot from another player, it would be Pete Sampras' serve or Nick Kyrgios' feel and drop shots.
    • Also enjoys golf and American football. Favourite NFL team is Los Angeles Chargers.
    • Favourite movie is Creed and TV shows are Arrow and Gossip Girl.
    • Says that his best quality is his athleticism and his worst quality is being shy.
    • Favourite food is sushi and guilty pleasure is dessert.
    • During COVID-19 pandemic, donated more than 40 pairs of FILA shoes to urgent care physicians and nurses at Sharp Rees-Stealy Clinic in Sorrento Mesa, CA, USA.

    • Former World No. 3 junior broke into Top 50 in July 2022 and achieved career-high No. 43 in October 2022, ending season on 16-1 run in tiebreaks.
    • Returned to Milan and went 5-0 to capture 2022 Next Gen ATP Finals title (d. Lehecka) after reaching SF in 2021.
    • Defeated countryman Giron to win 1st ATP Tour titleinhometown of San Diego in 2022.
    • Played in back-to-back ATP Tour finals at Los Cabos and Atlanta as 19-year-old in 2021, becoming youngest American to reach multiple finals since Roddick in 2001-02.
    • Reached Roland Garros 3R, Wimbledon 4R and US Open 3R in 2022, highlighted by biggest wins of career over No. 16 Shapovalov in Wimbledon 2R and No. 19 Dimitrov in US Open 2R.
