Turned pro in the summer 1987 after outstanding four-year career at the
University of Texas. Earned doubles All-America honors three years, teaming
with Royce Deppe to win more than 100 matches. Reached the NCAA doubles final
in 1985. He finished No. 43 in the final collegiate singles rankings and
No. 3 doubles in 1987.
Ranked only 595 in singles, but finished a career year-end best No. 64
in doubles in 1989, earning an all-time high $25,137.
Enjoys hunting, fishing, and playing drums and guitar. Life-time
ambition is to be a hot-lead picker for a rock n'roll band.
