The American finished out of Top 100 in ATP Entry System for first time in three years … Began year with a 3rd RD appearance at Australian Open where he recorded victories over Gambill and Popp before falling to Kafelnikov in four sets…Followed with a QF run in Memphis where he defeated No. 3 seed Sampras in 2nd RD (d.
