Played collegiate tennis at UCLA where he earned his degree in sociology. Enjoys reading, music, movies and going to the beach. Father, Cedric, is a general practitioner. Mother, Marina, is a piano teacher. Brother, Herman, plays in a rock band. Brother, Simon, also plays tennis. Named a National Coach for the USTA Player Development staff in 2004 after being the personal coach of Wayne Ferreira and Justin Gimelstob.
