    • Parents are Michiko and Katsuya. Has two older siblings, brother Shun and sister Yu, and a younger brother, Ryo.
    • Began playing tennis aged six with his siblings, inspired by watching Roger Federer.
    • Did not have experience with international tours until after graduating college, so it was initially "quite challenging" on Tour. But says competing on the ATP Tour is "truly amazing".
    • Favourite shot is his forehand, surface is hard court and enjoys playing tournaments in Japan. His favourite city on Tour is Tokyo.
    • Tennis idol is Roger Federer and his favourite athlete is football player Kevin De Bruyne. His favourite sports team is Manchester City.
    • Outside of tennis, enjoys golf and football. His dream job is to be a football player.
    • Likes watching Japanese comedy on television. His favourite movie is The Greatest Showman.
    • Favourite school subject was science. He says his best quality is his smile and worst quality is being shy.

    • Earned 1st ranking point in April 2016, broke into Top 500 in August 2019, Top 200 in May 2023 and Top 100 in June 2026, achieving career-high No. 89 after run to his 1st ATP Tour QF in Stuttgart.
    • Defeated Istomin at 2022 Davis Cup for first tour-level win, made an ATP Tour debut at 2022 Tokyo two weeks later as Q (l. to Majchrzak) and earned 1st ATP Tour win at 2023 Washington (d. L. Harris).
    • Earned biggest win of career by defeating No. 22 Machac at 2025 Tokyo.
    • Qualified to make Grand Slam main draw debuts at 2023 Wimbledon and 2023 US Open and as direct entry at 2026 Wimbledon and 2026 US Open.
    • Owns 108-73 Challenger record (5-4 in finals), winning titles at 2023 Nonthaburi-3, 2023 Tunis as Q, 2024 Shanghai, 2025 Zhangjiagang and 2025 Seoul.
