Father,Craig, is a pilot and author from New Zealand who playedrugby and cricket growing up; mother, Yuriko, is Japanese.
Older brother, Riki, was his college teammate and now serves as his coach.
Played many sports growing up and started in tennis at age 7.
Served as a ballboy at ASB Classic ATP 250 event in Auckland.
Favourite surface is grass, shot is serve andtournament is Tokyo.
Idol growing up was Roger Federer.
Occasionally trains at the National Tennis Centrein Tokyo.
Hobbies are playing basketball and listening to music.
Dreamed of playing basketball as a kid and supports Golden State Warriors.
Played college tennis at University of California, Berkeley (2011-14).
