Full name is Goran Simun Ivanisevic...Finished No. 3 in the 1988 world junior rankings...Advanced to the SF of Roland Garros Juniors and QF at US Open Juniors in 1988...Won the 1987 US Open Juniors doubles (w/Nargiso) ...Held flag for Croatia in Opening Ceremonies of 1988 Seoul and 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games... Also played in '96 Atlanta Olympics (1st RD singles and QF in doubles)...Has a 32-11 career record (20-6 in singles) in Davis Cup for Croatia since 1993...In December 1995, established Help Children in Need foundation to assist kids in his country...Practiced with Hajduk Split soccer team during the '97 off-season and was offered a place on the team for a match but declined... During TMS event, in March 1998, got a tattoo picturing a shark and roses over a cross on the back side of his right shoulder...Served as ATP Charities Chairman in 1999...Following his Wimbledon title, he was greeted by nearly 200,000 fans in his hometown of Split...He dedicated his victory to fellow countryman and former NBA star Drazen Petrovic, who died in a car accident in 1993...In August 2001 had an official Croatian stamp of Wimbledon champion issued...Began two-week compulsory Croatian military service at an army camp near his home town of Split on Nov. 27 and was officially sworn in on Dec. 15 in Zagreb as a member of a sports squad...Was given BBC Overseas Sports Personality of the Year award in 2001...Girlfriend, Tatiana; Daughter, Amber...Fitness trainer is Robert Prusac...Coached by countryman Mario Tudor, who played mostly Satellites.
