    • From Sesto in the German-speaking region of Italy.
    • Speaks Italian, German and English.
    • Parents are Hanspeter and Siglinde; has one brother, Mark.
    • Childhood nickname: the Fox.
    • Began playing tennis at age 7, inspired by his father’s passion for the sport.
    • Was an Italian champion skier from ages 8 to 12 and still skis in the offseason.
    • Initially preferred skiing and soccer to tennis before fully committing to the sport at age 13, when he left home to train in Bordighera, Italy.
    • Has said he is grateful to his parents for teaching him independence and for allowing him to leave home so young to pursue his dream.
    • On choosing tennis over skiing: “In skiing, you have to go downhill for maybe 90 seconds, and if you make one mistake, then it’s over. In tennis, you can play two hours, make many mistakes and still win the match.”
    • Favourite shot is the backhand.

    • Favourite tournaments are the Australian Open, Rome, the US Open and the ATP Finals.
    • Favourite cities on tour are Rome and Turin.

    • Unranked to begin 2018, ended 2020 as No. 1 teenager, broke into Top 10 at age 20 in 2021, became 1st Italian World No. 1 in PIF ATP Rankings history at age 22 in June 2024, earning 89 weeks at No. 1 spot.
    • At 2024 Australian Open, defeated 10-time champion Djokovic in SF and rallied from 2 sets down in final against Medvedev to win his 1st Grand Slam title. Became 1st player to beat Djokovic in SF or later at the tournament.
    • Became 1st Italian champion in Australian Open tournament history and second Italian man to win a Grand Slam title in Open Era (Panatta at 1976 Roland Garros).
    • Third man this century to successfully defend maiden Grand Slam title after Federer at 2003-04 Wimbledon and Nadal at 2005-06 Roland Garros after winning 3rd Grand Slam title at 2025 Australian Open.
    • Became 11th man in Open Era (2nd youngest behind Courier) to reach finals of all 4 Grand Slam events, stopping Alcaraz's 20-match winning streak at the event to win 2025 Wimbledon title and defended the Wimbledon title in 2026.
    • Captured 2024 US Open title to join Djokovic, Federer and Wilander as only players to win both hard court Grand Slam titles in the same season and be the first man to win 1st two Grand Slam titles in the same year since Vilas in 1977.
    • Fourth and youngest man in Open Era to reach finals of all 4 Grand Slam events in a single season, doing so in 2025, following Laver (1969), Federer (2006-07, 2009) and Djokovic (2015, 2021, 2023).
    • Went 73-6 (0.924) during 2024 season, including 8 titles, posting 5th-highest season win percentage since 2000 behind Federer (2004-06) and Djokovic (2015).
    • Boasts most titles of any Italian in Open Era (30), including ATP Masters 1000 championships at 2023 Toronto, 2024 Miami, 2024 Cincinnati, 2024 Shanghai, 2025 Paris, 2026 Indian Wells, 2026 Miami, 2026 Monte-Carlo, 2026 Madrid and 2026 Rome.
    • Joined Djokovic (at 2018 Cincinnati) as only players to complete the Golden Masters - winning all 9 ATP Masters 1000 titles, achieving the feat at 2026 Rome.
    • Recorded longest win streak in ATP Masters 1000 series history (34) after becoming the first man in series history to win 6 consecutive ATP Masters 1000 titles from 2025 Paris to 2026 Rome and second man to win all 3 clay ATP Masters 1000 events in a season after Nadal in 2010.
    • First man to win back-to-back ATP Masters 1000 titles without dropping a set, doing so in 3 consecutive events from 2025 Paris to 2026 Miami, and first player to win the Sunshine Double (Indian Wells and Miami) without dropping a set, doing so in 2026.
    • With his 2026 Indian Wells title, he became just the third man to win all six ATP Masters 1000 hard-court events, after Djokovic and Federer.
    • First Italian to win Nitto ATP Finals title, winning in 2024 and 2025 without dropping a set on both occasions, and led Italy to 2 of 4 Davis Cup titles in history in 2023 and 2024 (also 1976 and 2025).
