Heinz became the first "Lucky Loser" to win a Grand Prix singles title when he upended Harold Solomon to win in Springfield in 1978... Doubles remains his bread and butter... A very intelligent, articulate man, Gunthardt likes to unwind from tennis but not from athletic pursuits; two of his favorite diversions are skiing and wind surfing. Resides in Zurich, Switzerland...
