  • Captured the 1988-89 Australian Open men's and mixed doubles titles (w/Jana Novotna). Also won the 1988 U.S. Open mixed doubles title and 1989 Wimbledon mixed doubles title (w/Novotna).

    Turned pro in 1985 after earning All-America honors in 1983-84 at UCLA. Hits with two hands from both the forehand and backhand sides. Upset Pat Cash in first round at the '87 French Open before losing in the third round. Also reached the third round at the '87 U.S. Open (l.Lendl). Enjoys jogging and body surfing. Teamed with Leach to win the 1988 Nabisco Masters doubles title in their first appearance. Finished as the No. 1 team on the NGP standings with seven titles. Finished in the top 100 for the fourth consecutive year at No. 60 and compiled a 20-18 match record in 1989, while earning $404,302, his second straight $400,000-plus season. In 1988 he earned a career-high $418,471.
